Microblading Questions And Advice Medway Near Rochester And Chatham Kent

Microblading is typically not suitable for the following skin types:

  • Oily skin
  • Large pores
  • Problem skin, broken, capillaries, acne
  • Moles
  • Keratosis
  • Seborrheoeic Dermatisis
  • Extremely dry or peeling skin
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Imminent holidays planned – the sun can significantly fade semi-permanent makeup. You must be at least two weeks healed before going away on holiday. However, I would recommend you have this treatment when you return back from holiday when your tan has faded.
  • Low immune system
  • Some medical conditions and medications – please inform your technician ASAP. A doctor’s note will be required for some clients as per my insurance guidelines; please don’t be offended if I request one.

Clients with the previous semi-permanent make up still visible from another technician. I cannot work over other people’s work – they will need to be completely faded out.

Microblading is a new and modernised semi-permanent technique for intensifying the appearance of the eyebrows, in which pigment is lightly scratched into the skin in fine, small strokes resembling hair and giving the image of fuller brows.

The method takes about 1.5 -2 hours. After an inital consultation to expalin the process, we will mark out your eyebrow shape for your approval and then begin your brow enhancement. Your top-up appointment will be scheduled at the end of the procedure.

Your inclusive top-up appointment should be scheduled within 4-6 weeks of your initial treatment and takes approximately 45 minutes – one hour. If this is not booked within the correct timeframes, you will miss out on the free treatment, and will therefore become chargeable. Please bare in mind our diary can become very busy, and is your responsibility to guarantee you have booked your top-up.

The results can last between 1-2 years, depending on skin type, products you use and your lifestyle. After this period the pigment will fade, leaving the skin and brows as they were before. Once your treatment and top up appointments are completed you can re-book anytime between 3 months and two years. I’s down to your personal choice as too when you feel a top-up is required.

Some skin types may find it more difficult to retain the pigment, this includes oily skin and ones with large pores. These may need a third top up at a small additional cost. Darker complexions will have a softer effect, whereas lighter completions will show the hair strokes more easily.

Unlike having a tattoo, microblading is much more gentler and much less invasive procedure. We begin by gently scratching the surface of the skin, and then anaesthetic is applied, which is absorbed by the scratches making them utterly numb so that I can go slightly deeper over these fine lines pain-free. For most of the treatment, you will not feel much; some clients have even found it relaxing and gone too sleep!

The brows usually take approximately 2 weeks to heal.

Through and after the treatment, brief redness may occur. Depending on the skin type after the first procedure, tiny scabs can sometimes appear with slight loss of pigment along the stroke lines and colour intensity may vary. In the first week after treatment brows are up to 40% darker and 10-15% thicker but they will slowly fade to a more softer and natural finish. For some clients, the brows will apparently disappear, but dont panic they will start to improve again over the next few weeks. The final result is not completely seen until around 6 weeks after your top-up treatment.

The shape of the brows is measured according to the morphology of the face, using a hand-held measuring tool. It goes without saying that your personal preferences will obviously be taken into consideration and we will work towards whatever look you prefer. The colour used will naturally be determined by your natural eyebrow hair for a natural finish, creating the perfect look for you!

Only if your face is symmetrical – This is usually highly unlikely! We use a measuring technique to plan your new brows out. Circumstances such as muscle tone and bone structure will alter the symmetry of your eyebrows. Sometimes we can add hair strokes in areas outside of the measured brows to produce the illusion of greater symmetry.

A sterile hand-held disposable tool is used for applying your treatment to guarantee the highest safety. We use only the very best products.

Please avoid from plucking threading or tinting your eyebrows before your treatment. We must see exactly what we are dealing with before creating your perfect eyebrow shape.

Please email us directly for availability and our booking information. We do work on a first-come, first-serve basis and availability can often limited. To secure a certain date you would like, we do take a £50 non-refundable deposit via bank payment/ transfer (The full deposit will be deducted from the final price of your treatment). The deposit you pay to secure your preferred date is non-refundable, but if for some reason your plans do change and you require to reschedule your appointment, we do ask that you give around 3-4 days notice. Lip Blush

Yes, you can! You are advised to avoid spicy food for up to 48 hours after the procedure as your lips are extra sensitive, and you will experience a burning sensation. You are also advised to avoid red wine as this can impact the colour of the pigment. Please do be careful when eating ad drinking hot food/drink and remember you have been numbed throughout the procedure.

The whole procedure takes roughly 2 to 3 hours, including numbing and consultation.

Lip Blush approximately 5 to 7 days for the lips to heal superficially. However, they are not truly healed until 4 to 6 weeks which is why your top-up session is not scheduled before this period. At the truly healed stage, your skin will have digested the pigment fully, and your lips will be closer to the colour you chose initially. At your top-up, any minor adjustment to colour can be made.

If you have a history of cold sores or herpes, the procedure could trigger an outbreak. Prescribed anti-viral medication should be taken in advance of the appointment, and it should be noted that cold sores can affect the healed results of the lip blush.

With all cosmetic tattooing, the results vary from person to person. Generally, lip blushing can last several years, although your lifestyle contributes to how well it maintains; smoking and sun exposure can speed up the fading process, and if you’re oil-prone, have an iron deficiency or use a lot of exfoliating products in your skin regimen, the pigment could fade more quickly, too.

A minimum of 4 weeks post-filler is required before your Lip appointment. It is recommended that you have the permanent lip enhancement first and then the lip filler injection once lips are healed.

Please note that final results cannot be guaranteed as each unique skin type will hold pigments differently and break down at different rates. We will re-evaluate how your skin has received the pigment at your second session and make any changes. Two appointments are recommended initially. Each of these appointments is 6-8 weeks apart. At your complimentary touch-up session, we will assess the colour retention and make any adjustments necessary. Everyone heals differently and at different rates. If your cosmetic tattoo does not heal perfectly the first time, do not worry, we can always make necessary adjustments when you return!

The lips usually take approximately 4 weeks to heal.

Tattoo Removal

The treatment is not pain-free, but obviously, everyone has a different pain threshold, however many customers report that it feels similar to the skin being flicked by an elastic band.

Yes! Keeping hydrated helps to break down the particles of ink, which in turn makes it easier for your body to process the ink.

Typical short term side effects can include blistering, swelling, scabbing and itching. We will discuss any potential side effects during your consultation

Yes, we can, but as this is effectively two tattoos, it will take longer than a single tattoo as we will have to remove it layer by layer.

For your safety, it is important that the area to be treated is not exposed to natural sun or a sunbed for at least 4 weeks before and after the treatment session.

This is a great question…Every person is completely different as well as every tattoo. We can never assure anyone how long it will take to remove a tattoo. Depending on the tattoo itself, the ink used, the age of the tattoo, the place of the tattoo as well as the individual person to name just a few factors.
